If you major is in CALS, can you minor elsewhere?

I'm planning to transfer to CALS next year as a Comm major, but I really want to study Fiber and Apparel Design (HUMEC) Is this allowed?

If the minor is available, I believe you are able to minor in whatever you want in any college.

Sorry, you can only minor in CALS.

Thanks cornelli, helpful link. Bummer, I really wanted to minor in Fiber Science and Apparel…do they still allow you to take classes there, maybe just as electives?

Ooo didn’t realize CALS rules were different in that respect. Sorry!

I’m not even sure that there is a minor for Fiber Science. I can’t find anything about one. Of course you can take as many classes as you want in Fiber Science and if you want to go into that industry after graduation, you could easily list on your resume the classes that you took and explain in your interviews that there was no official minor, but you took x amount of classes. Good luck!
