If you plan to use decisions.mit.edu ...

... let me strongly recommend that you follow Ben's suggestion now, and log out from MyMIT and back in, to verify a week in advance that you know your correct username and password. As he says in his blog, if you don't have those two pieces of data, you will not be able to get into decisions.mit.edu next Saturday, and there will be no one in the office to handle your requests for a reset that weekend.

If you are using "remember me" functionality with your MyMIT account, we strongly advise you to log out and log back in to be 100% certain that you know your correct username and password. We will not be in the office on the weekend that decisions are released, so to prevent any delays, you should confirm your username and password well in advance by logging into your MyMIT account.

If you think you know your username and password, you can go to decisions.mit.edu now and log in just to check that you're right.

It's a nice simple insurance policy and costs nothing.

I'd like to leave you all with a marvelous quote from the online decisions portal, which I hope everyone will take to heart in this next week:

We know that applying to college is stressful, and that the closer you get to receiving your admissions decisions, the easier it becomes to let that stress consume you. We encourage you to acknowledge it, embrace it, and then let it go. This is your last semester of high school, and your primary responsibility is to enjoy every remaining minute of this journey before you embark on the next.

All the best to everyone.

mootmom- thanks so much. you are one of the most helpful and caring people on this entire website! :)

^^^^ I second that :)

thanx. :)

.....................

I strongly agree. Mootmom is the best!

I didn't even apply to MIT (a friend is actually checking this section), and I'm struck by how genuinely nice this was.

all hail mootmom! :-O

Bumping to remind people!

Also, allow me my soapbox for a second:
After EA decisions, there were a number of comments left on Ben and Matt's blogs which were really hurtful, immature, and completely inappropriate.

Please remember when you're getting your decision next Saturday that the admissions committee worked really hard to select the class, and they spent a great time on your application specifically. If you have any disappointed or spiteful remarks after getting your decision, please take a day or two to cool off before rashly posting it as a comment on a blog.

Hopefully many of you will come to CC next weekend to celebrate. :)

REMINDER: if you have not yet checked your username and password, time is running out.

TEST YOUR PASSWORD NOW!

Just a public service announcement. :D

(PS: Thanks for the kind words, folks. I'm happy to help...)
