If you play sports in high school...

Do colleges get mad if you don't do community service or volunteer work?

By the end of high school I would be playing 4 years of basketball, 3 years of football, and 1-2 years of baseball.
I will most likely be the captain of the basketball team at least 1 of my last two years.

Will they still consider you if you haven't done much outside of sports?

Of course. Depth>Breadth.

Of course, as in they will get mad? Or of course as in they will still consider me?

Of course they will still consider you. Colleges can’t- and don’t- expect you to do everything.

Colleges don’t “get mad” about anything you do or do not do! Admissions committees look at many different aspects of an application and different schools weight each component of the app differently. So whether or not your athletic participation will mitigate the need for community service will be dependent on how each school views each of these aspects of your application. But, I will tell you that most of the athletes I know, even the ones who are top athletes and were recruited for their sport, had significant community service hours. My daughter was a three sport recruited athlete and graduated with well over 200 hours of community service.
