the new score of the retest would be just another test score added into the teacher's grade book

r u insane??? heck no

Would the grade be the best out of the two?
Am I getting under an 'A' in the class?

If I was getting under an A in the class by .1 or something I'd retake it.

No. Only if I had like a B+ and it could give me an A-. I don't think I'd do it even if I had an A- and it'd give me an A.

Hell no. I'd jump for joy at a 96.

Yes...if it was an easy test
at my school a 96 is a A-...so i probably would

no. i have a life.

If the test was neither extremely difficult nor long, I would.

this girl in my ap physics class retook a 98.. our teacher averages the grades of the two tests.. she got a 99 overall eheh

Assuming the test isn't difficult or long (like clemenciae just said) I probably would, just because I'd probably get another 96-ish on it and get a better overall grade in the class. Unless my average was higher than 96. In which case I wouldn't.

how can you rationalize wasting the time to retake an A test, that is valuable school sleep time that you are wasting

Do you mean sleep in school? That never works for me... I just sleep at night. Besides, it's not like you have to study all over... if you got a 96 once, it should be easier the second time (you see what you got right/wrong).

GoldShadow, the chances of you making a silly mistake and getting lower than a 96 is very high on the retake. Besides, retakes are usually MUCH harder in our school!!

I'd do it. But I'm weird like that. I once retook a quiz I got a 20/20 on.

um no. a 96 is really really good at my school.

Same thing at my school...But teachers also do not allow students to retake tests. If I got a 96, though, and I knew all the material well, I would opt to retake it.

Hmm, lemme think. Hell no!

Yeah I would retake it, but then again it really depends on how crucial that test is to my grade.

"the new score of the retest would be just another test score added into the teacher's grade book"

Does that mean both the old score and the new score will be counted? If so, definitely, as thats basically two test grades close to 100 instead of one.

Yeah, retake it. If you do good again, it will help strengthen your test average. That way, if you mess up later on, the blow won't hit that hard.
