Is there a certain title or do you just simply put "shadowed Dr. _______ from ____ to ____"?

I don’t see how you can put something like this on a college app. Shadowing a physician is more of an experience, I think, than something to add to your list of ECs or something. And since it’s an experience, you can write about it in a college essay.

If there’s actually a title or another answer, I’d like to know too.

Maybe as “Job shadowing” or something like that. I’m planning on putting a summer internship on there as well and I plan on putting “Internship with…”

So you don’t write it under ECs?

I would definitely write it under ECs, then talk about it at length in an interview. I’m shadowing pediatric neurosurgeons as well as interventional neuro radiologists, and there’s no way I’m going to NOT write that on my app…

Yes, you can absolutely put it on your resume. Just describe it as:

Shadowed Dr. John Jones, Head of Pediatric Neuroscience, Los Angeles General Hospital. June - September, 2010.

Reggie, I think that you’re actually missing the bigger question. An experience like this is fine to just mention, but if you have this kind of extensive experience, you really should look to make the core of your personal statement.
