If you take a CC class in high school...

does it count towards your HS GPA?

It depends on the policies of your school, but generally if it’s taken for high school credit it will count toward your high school GPA. It might not count as much because it might not be worth as many credits (my school considers one dual-enrollment course to be worth 0.6 of a credit or something like that because of the difference in the number of hours you spend in a classroom in a college compared to a high school). My school doesn’t give you the option of taking DE classes for college credit only, but some schools do, in which case it probably wouldn’t count toward your high school GPA.

I’m pretty sure it does not factor into your GPA unless it was a dual credit class where you got both high school and CC credit for the same course. If you got high school credit for it, then I believe it should be reflected in your high school GPA. I took both dual credit and evening CC classes in high school and only the dual credit counted towards my high school GPA, though I submitted both transcripts to colleges.
