If you took ap chem take the subject test for chem also.

Okay, it may sound like a duh-statement, and this will probably end up being a pointless post, but I thought maybe it would help someone out there from making a dumb mistake as I did.

I had a lot of difficulty with AP Chemistry. I mean. A LOT. It is a HARD CLASS. The exam murdered me. I was sick and tired of it -- I did not want to look at anymore chemistry by SAT II time!! SAT II Chemistry seemed challenging to me also (friend's opinions -- should not have heeded), so I signed up for World History instead, which I had taken last year and somewhat liked, but had mostly forgotten. When testing time came around, I flaked out and decided to take chemistry after all.

The test was slightly above pre-AP level. I breezed through. If I had studied, I'm pretty sure I would have made a 800.

Seriously if you finished AP Chem, no matter how much you might think you suck at it, I'd urge you to go for the subject test. It is way below AP level. I don't know why no one told me that before. :C

Side note: On the other hand, I thought the U.S. History subject test was really hard. I hated APUSH with a passion, but I thought it was easier then AP Chem, and I expected the same relative difficulty from the subject tests. I got the same score on the U.S. history subject test as I did on the chem subject test. Pathetic, considering I studied pretty darn hard for the former.

(I ended up getting fives for both AP tests to put things in a more objective light in this highly biased post lol)

ask me random questions about sat IIs I'll try to answer best as i can.... I should really sleep. What am I doing.

Wow, I think I may just be the odd one out but personally, I thought the US History subject test was much easier than the chemistry one. This might be because I took IB Chem SL so maybe it doesn’t correlate as well. I think I’ll just study for the chem subject test (I didn’t last time because I was so overwhelmed with AP/IB exams) and retake it to see whether I can get a higher score. Are there any methods of studying which you would recommend? Thanks.
