Read the UC Berkeley reviews on Yelp: University of California Berkeley - UC Campus Area - Berkeley, CA

I was honestly expecting to see all 1 star reviews based on stereotypes/negativity/jealousy or whatever a lot of people on this forum seem to have. The yelp reviews are pretty refreshing and are written by actual students and alumni. Hopefully, incoming students can get a better idea of what going to the school is like from this.

:)

hey this is a great site! there are much more positive reviews and it is definitely helpful. Thanks.

Wow. What a pleasant change of pace. Thanks for posting this. I’m glad to know that some students enjoy Berkeley. I thought my son was the only one! haha

I know current CAL freshmen who live in Clark Kerr and Units I, II, and II and Oscar Wilde co-op–all are loving CAL, and none seem to have some of the transitional, freshman angst that was a part of adapting to CAl, for some, in my day. There seems to be so much more administrative support, and the food is way better, even ORGANIC!! Some of those freshman came from some provincial and rural places and cannot get over the diversity and political/social tolerance at CAL.

^Hahahaha…i remember when i saw my first gay couple at berkeley; it was so awkward, but it’s nice to see them so happy. =)

bumping for the new admits to see

Wow thanks! Love it!

bumping again because i see too many versus threads? :)

I am a Cal grad. It has been 25 years since I graduated. I am still involved in many Cal groups, clubs and organizations. I played football and continue to go to all the games. I still wear all of my Cal gear, all of the time…As they say on ESPN “Never Graduate”…I graduated, but you know what they mean. Most of my current friends are friends that I made while at Cal. I don’t know too many kids that had bad experiences and most were thrilled with their time at Cal (maybe that is why so many are STILL involved in giving back) and helping keep Cal great. I have been successful in my chosen field (finance). I can confidently say everything I have and the person that I am is a DIRECT result of my days at Cal. It made me a stronger, tougher, smarter and more passionate person. Going to Cal was the best decision I ever made.
