If You Want Your Child to Succeed, Don’t Sell Liberal Arts Short

From an employment standpoint, it really comes down to the student and the school, not the major (so much). Top students from schools that do a great job connecting the student body (not just the business school) to employers will send a lot of non stem kids to very good careers (and also to great grad schools). However, if the student isn’t strong (3.5 or better) and / or the school doesn’t provide resources that really amount to anything other than a computer search, you may find yourself asking “what did we just pay for?”

There are many schools that have great OCR but make sure that all are encouraged to participate and that the companies care to speak to non stem, non business students. The right combination has employers seeking the top students, regardless of field.
