If you were to go into investment banking

and decided to apply to Northwestern, U.Chicago, Brown, NYU(Stern), Stanford, MIT

Where would you go for best job placement and very importantly PRESTIGE?

What I heard (from my Brown interviewer), is that unlike the other schools you mentioned, Brown students from various fields and concentrations are hired by many firms (he specifically mentioned investment firms). He himself was a math major and he said he had friends who were also math majors who worked in Goldman-Sachs, Charles Schwab, etc. I'm not sure if this helps at all so sorry if it doesn't :(

I'd say U Chicago off the top of my head just for proximity. Think of where you can land an internship at a Fortune 500 company more easily. NYU may be a good idea for proximity but I'm not all that fond of NYU or NYC, so I think that'll be a personal decision for you. The business field relies heavily on your experience.

Now what if i were to add to the mix that I want to transfer to Wharton as a sophomore. Which school would allow me to earn great grades to make the cut without too much difficulty, but would still allow for good job placement and equivalent prestige to Wharton if denied a transfer?

Brown...great courses and curriculum, but you get to select your education (and essentially your life - unlike at penn) I just have a question...are you in college now or in high school? I am saying this about upenn because I work there and know some people eh that possibly could use more free time

Most of my friends interested in finance have found internships with bulge bracket firms for the summer. They recruit Brown pretty well, if going into
I Banking is your thing.

Not many schools have the prestige level of Wharton in the business world. Maybe Harvard Yale Princeton. Still, all of those schools you mentioned are recruited at by ibanks.

(insert Interest in I Banking = I Robot joke here etc etc)
