Colleges:
Duke
Vanderbilt
WashU
Emory
Johns Hopkins
UofMich
Case Western
Northwestern

I imagine that Duke is a reach, Vanderbilt is a match, WashU is a reach, Emory a match, Johns Hopkins a match/reach, UofM a match and Case Western a safety (they admit about 66% of applicants). Northwestern a reach. Am I being realistic? Could you rate those schools on whether you think they are a reach/match/safety for me? Also if you have any suggestions I would appreciate them.

P.S. I was planning on submitting my ACT results and all the colleges I stated do not require SAT II’s if you submit the ACT. But I am going to take the SAT and some subject tests just in case.
P.S.S- I was thinking about applying ED to Vanderbilt. If you consider them a reach for me RD, would they be a match ED for me?
Thanks again.

Duke - reach
Vanderbilt - match
WashU - match
Emory - low reach
Johns Hopkins - reach
UofMich - match
Case Western - safe match
Northwestern - reach

I think you have a good chance at all of these schools, and suggest that you do NOT apply ED to any of them unless you really want to go to that school.
You have a great GPA and class rank, as well as good ECs, but your SAT and ACT might be a bit of trouble.
Nevertheless, just write a great essay, send your application in, and we'll see what happens.

Vandy is probably a low reach early. And I'd think that UMich is still a reach/low reach.

ADD MATCH AND SAFETY SCHOOLS.

WashU is a low reach. Not a match. You'd have a much better shot there ED.

all are reasonable reaches / matches

What is the weak part of my stats?

Your test scores without a doubt, and (though less important) a lack of any real volunteer service. Two weeks in Mexico is very minimal.

I am going to study my butt off for the October ACT and hope to raise it to a 34, I am also going to take the SAT again along with the Math II subject test and either the reading or biology or something like that. Previously I have gone in cold, but I will prepare a lot this time... Also I didnt intend on submitting my SAT I or SAT II scores, unless they turn out higher than my ACT. The schools on this list do not require SAT II scores. So would my chances go up if all they see is a 32 ACT?

bump... anyone else??? please?

They're supposed to ignore your SAT if your ACT is higher, so it shouldn't matter if they see it or not.
Ses is right about Wash U. They prefer ED applicants in order to protect their yield.

Really... I didnt know that about WashU... hmm
