If your child is at a Northern college...

Wonderful story about the elderly couple, but the animal that saved them was a German Shepherd/Timber-wolf mix that they had raised for seven years.

Added:
I just read your second post, paying3tuitions. Did she say it was a wild wolf? It's more interesting hearing it from the source.

Well the FOX people say it's true!!!!

<a href="http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,234599,00.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,234599,00.html</a></p>

Guess I'm an urban skeptic...

wow, that's Eve! Thank you, all!

Just viewed Eve in the links from above posters. The Fox (!) story from Dudedad, plus the video inside the Coronax2 posting, tell the story.
Sounds like my spouse brought home "wolf" (he should have said wolf-dog)and I mistakenly remembered her husband as "Stanley" instead of "Norman." Also, it's Alden NY, not Eden NY both of which are near here. I guess I transposed the name "Eve" into Garden of Eden.

But all the REST of the details hold up! Thank you, CC'ers.

Part of the end of fall routine is putting a scraper, or two, in each car. I keep a hat and gloves in the car, and a cheap snow shovel in the trunk- this is why H had to dust the snow off by hand yesterday-I don't know what happened to the scraper that should have been there, and now is there until he next needs it... The snow shovels come out of the cars when the trunk gets opened some balmy spring day, or when we need the space and likewise the scrapers get found under the seat, where they migrate...

You'd be surprised at how unbundled kids are on a northern college campus, they clear the roads and sidewalks, son hasn't wanted the boots he never used in HS. I find myself merely zipping my jacket to go in/out of stores; the hat and gloves stay safely in the car in zero degree weather.

It was interesting to hear about how the Colorado folks handled the snow, we had such balmy weather then I'd forgotten about winter hassles. I could relate too many winter travel et al stories... Only two more months...My rule- it always snows after the first day of spring.
