Now for those of you still reading this far, the schools I want to apply to are
UCD
UCSD
Umiami
UCI
UF
UCF

and if you know any other schools in the California/Florida area that I seem fit for by all means im open to ideas ^.^

Sorry to be a grammar nazi but it should be “if YOU’RE gonna chance someone, pick me”.

I don’t know too much about those schools, but you at least have a fair chance. URM status helps, maybe not as much at some schools and more at others on your list.

If you’re from Florida but are willing to go all the way to Cali, why not look at schools elsewhere, too? (Is it because of the weather everywhere else?)

Yea I know for the cali schools they don’t look at ethnicity … And yes ! Exactly it’s about the weather … I HATE !!! The cold 100% hate it.
Even though sometimes this Florida heat is crazy!

You have a good chance at ucf. I know people who have gotten in with lower scores(especially if you only send in act scores). Uf is a reach because it’s so completive. I only know about the Florida schools since I live there.

You might want to look at Tulane University, in New Orleans.

It’s warm, good weather (well…hurricanes, but you’re from Florida so). Your ACT score falls into their range–don’t send them your SAT score if you can avoid it. Check their policies.

They offered my cousin a half-tuition scholarship, and she had scores only a bit higher than yours, and she’s not even a URM. Her EC’s were nothing spectacular, but she had GREAT essays and recommendations. She didn’t end up going, but still.

They have around 10% of students majoring in Biology, which is a good number: you won’t have terrible competition, but you won’t be the only one in your major.

Yes ! I heard that UC’s are not very generous with OOS financial aid. But do I have a decently good chance for UCD, UCSD I know is kind of a if the admission office is in a good mood kind of thing they might spare me situation but hey might as well apply never know. UCD is the dream though. Especially since my major is not impacted !

UCD: High match
UCSD: Reach
U Miami: Match
UCF: Low Match
UF: Match
UCI: Match

You would classify as a URM, so that is working in your favor. As my predictions show, you will get into most, if not all of your schools. UCSD is the only one really in question, but even that is within reason. If possible, send your ACT, but not your SAT.
