... how much harder is it for you to get into college?

about .340912390347894r52349034fhsbfabhsfbbhjkabbfpoop% harder.

^^^ so it is easier?

Statistically speaking, URM’s with my SAT score have a 70% acceptance rate at Harvard.
Caucasians with my SAT scores have about a 20% acceptance rate.
Andddd Asians have about a 10%.
Note: There was something published by Harvard that contained this info, I can’t find it now. It was from a few years back.

urghhhh- for the rest of my life i have to hear this- I just want a break please

can asians stop complaining the honestly

Too many Asians act like the only schools that exist are HYPSM. If you get good scores and grades, there are plenty of GOOD schools that will accept you. They just might not be HYPSM :D

I don’t think Asians are discriminated against, at least not any more than your typical white applicant. The problem, at least at my school, is that a lot of the Asian students don’t develop their interests/personalities and instead just pad their resumes and gun for top grades/scores from day one of high school.

sanguinity, a decimal percentage would still indicate its original direction of change. A 50% increase from 1000 equals 1500; a .50% increase would raise it from 1000 to 1005.

Lol I just construed it as something like “2x harder”, in which case you’d be multiplying .0034 blah blah blah by whatever rate the normal acceptance rate is.

Maybe they were not as well rounded on average? Or they took the test too many times?

■■■■. I’m Asian.

to onthefly, no, those aren’t the reasons. Its because AA is racist.

P.S. im not asian

Cool story bro.

deal with it people.

Legit? The 70% part for URMs. That just seems ridiculous to me. I don’t know what your SAT score is, but I’m guessing that it’s high from the numbers and the fact that you’re talking about Harvard. Mine is up there too and I just have a hard time believing that someone like me would have anywhere near that good of a chance at Harvard.
I’ve seen ridiculous URM acceptance rates, like UChicago’s (50%). But 70%? I guess though, there might be very, very few URMs with the sort of scores you’re talking about. It’s still ridiculous though.

Nah, I think that acceptance rate is about right. There’s some guy around these parts that’s African American and he got accepted to Harvard, Stanford, Princeton AND Yale with a 2200.

What if you could pick your odds, but you had to do it at birth?

I’d be an eskimo. but unfortunately, I’m Asian. It’s just because there are way too many good Asians. It sucks. :)

just be the best asian. Don’t complain if there’s other asians who are better than you.

More difficult, but that’s the penalty you get for leaving and betraying your own country and stealing American jobs.
