If you're normal come to this thread.

HI! It's so depressing reading all these stats! No one's human here!

I'm happy with my scores. Personally, I'd rather spend my time reading a good book, rather than learning how to "take a test."

FYI, I just got my scores back and with last test, my highest score is a 1250.

I really hope no one talks about SATs in college. I get a stomach ache just reading these threads. Comments, normal people?

Katie

Totally agree. I have a 1600. Makes me sick to read about people who scored so much better than I did.

eeeeeh...

!

hah scherzo123, that was very nice. :/

but camus23 i agree with you, everything hear is disheartening...1400-1600's galore, and 700+ on sat II.... my highest sat is 1290 and my highest sat ii is a 660. i like to say i am NORMAL and everyone else is a mutant. lol

haha, i think scherzo123 had a typo. i looked in hi profile, and i think he had a 14--. He wasn't trying to be mean. :)

Camus23, now I understand why you got a 1250...

It was a joke.

hey some of us 1400+ peeps don't study either lol! i just prepped 3 days before the test lol...

eeh good for you peeps! lol! omg! you only prepped 3 days! omg! oh you're so good! aren't you proud of yourself? oh wow! we're so proud of you! wow! i'm so jealous!

Dude, trying to brag on an online forum... c'mon. Yeah definitely no life.

I definitely agree with Camus, lots of people here (and in the real world too...) put way too much importance on testing, and on college admissions in general. Can't really blame the kids though - a lot of the pressure and expectation comes from parents, teachers, and society.

In a perfect world, it wouldn't be that way. If you manage to get into an Ivy, but you'd really be happier at a smaller school with your friends, what's the point?

I DEFINITELY wouldn't call myself normal, but I have my share of problems that are perhaps even more aggrivating. I got a 1460 of the SAT, 780 on Physics, 790 on Writing and an 800 on IIC. But my average is an 87. I ****ed up freshmen and sophomore years. At least with you guys its clear where you stand...I could get into my biggest reach or have everyone reject me

life doesn't seem fair when natural geniuses get 1500 on their first try and i prep for years and still don't break that number.

That's why they're natural geniuses.

My highest (combined) SAT score is 1270. In one sitting, it was 1250. The first time I took it, it was January 2003. I had just been in US for 5 months, and screwed the verbal BIG TIME (420:(). The second time, Oct 2003, my verbal improved slightly (to 510, I know, it's laughable). I will take IIC and Physics in December and Writing in January. Hope I won't bomb the writing this time.

hah scherzo is handing out the pwnages left and right

mediocretes, you are like my freakin' clone.

I have a 1460 SAT and bombed both my freshman and sophmore years.
My freshman and sophmore gpa was about ~3.5
And now so far I have ~4.0

So damn worried about college.. Hopefully I'll be fine, if I play it right.

i'm normal, didn't do much sat prep yet and i'm a junior. my wish is to get a 1400+

ima junior too and i did horrible on the new SAT prep thing. A 700 Math (Im in AP Calc too), 610 Writing, and a 540 Critical reading... y did they change the verbal. i liked the analogies...

Anyone else normal?

For this board, I'm pretty normal.

Camus23, I have a 1240... but hopefully not after December 4th. ;)

And I am normal... finally found somoene who is too.

But then again, this board represents like 1% applying to college and most ppl get in without a good SAT... doesn't matter much. as long as you are paying the $$$ a ton, you're good.

btw... there is still hope if you're in the 1200+ range

< 1200 means you really suck.

I've heard an old joke many times in my Jewish circles. However religious you are, anyone slightly more religious is a "fanatic." The same logic applies to SAT scores in reverse...whatever you scored, any scores lower than that and you're an idiot (this seems to be especially prevalent in the 1100-1350 range). The ironic thing about everyone claiming how the SATs just a test, and it doesn't matter, and that it doesn't detract from your self-worth is that at the same time you're blasting people who do well as having "studied for a test." Yes, your SAT score should not detract from your self-worth....but clearly it does or you wouldn't feel the need to do this. Incredibly, some people are more conventionally intelligent than others. I say conventionally...more intelligent in the way of the SAT test (better vocabulary, better reading skills, better logical abilities, and better at mathematics). Of course there are intangibles like being able to test well under pressure and stay focused. I just don't like the idea that anyone with a high SAT score is either a) abnormal b) isn't really smart but just studied for the test or c) lucky. Sorry...just my opinion.
