If you're stuck on the waitlist...

How good of a chance is it if I am 16th out of 17 students on a waitlist? If I don't get this class, I end up with a sucky teacher who only got a rating of 1.05 or something on pickaprof. Does anyone know how this waitlist thing will work out looking at the situation I'm in? If I try to fill it with another RANDOM class, I end up with a schedule that wouldn't work at all.. Anyone have any experienced opinions?

no experience but my OA told me that your best chances on a waitlist is to be in the top 5...maybe top10. after that its a super long shot.

iono about that.

For my ECO 304K class, I started on the waitlist at about 49 of 49 (in June 20th???) and now I'm number 11. So, I've still got a shot. I had another class (RHE 306), I believe, and I was 15 out of 16, and I got in. Just hold out hope, and check everyday. I guess you never know.

What class are you trying to get into? Maybe there might be drops the first couple days of class.

Hey, BTW, I just got into my class that I was originally at 49 of 49. I started the day out at 12 of 50, and I just got in. Go figure. Just make sure you have a SWAP class. I think the machine is operated in which if you don't have a swap class, you won't get the next position.

What is the swap option for? Is it only for time conflicts with other classes or even if you just want to add another class that doesn't have a time conflict wth another class?

I'm using swap because I'm registered for a 9AM section of a class but I really want the 3:30PM section (better prof and time)
