iFailed!

i am a UCSD undergraduate and i enrolled myself in 3 courses at a local community college for summer school (multivariable calculus, ethnic studies, and music appreciation). however, lately, i found myself failing (D/F) multivarialble calculus. at this point, i can not pass the class. i would just not send my transcript to UCSD, but i have A's in my other two classes that i do not want to go to waste. i guess it's my fault for taking too many classes this summer...

what should i do? :(
i understand that UCSD will not factor this D/F into my UCSD GPA, but i heard that grad schools will ask for all my transcripts and that they will factor my community college grades into my UCSD GPA themselves. how bad is this going to look?

should i retake multivariable calculus this year at UCSD or at the same community college?

*notes:
-i have always received A's in community college summer courses.
-i'm a biology major, music minor and expecting to do well in my core classes.

thanks!

You can’t hide transcripts from AMCAS, even if you do some from your Uni. They will run a SSN check, if they find out that you hid grades you are done. Withdraw if you must.

i can’t withdraw. for sure, i have to take that D/F.

Then it looks like you’re going to have a D or F on your record. I don’t see what you can do to get out of it.

Ouch. They generally say that Med Schools like to see you take more advanced course work to off-set bad grades in a subject area, rather than repeating courses. ie. a C in Gen Chem is off set by an A in Advanced Physical Chemistry I.

But Calc III might be different? I recommend that you first TRY your best to get THE BEST POSSIBLE grade you can as of now. Then, retake at YOUR main college. Get an A!! Then TAKE another math class and get an A. Recommendations: Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, or any higher level Calculus offered by your Uni.

Good Luck man!!
