IGETC=all GE?

once i finish the IGETC and transfer is there upper division general education i need to take or do i just concentrate on major requirements after the transfer? if there is more general ed i need to take could someone give me a link just so i can see what classes it is? thanks

In general, IGETC covers all of your lower division GE. most UCs only have one or two UD writing courses after that, and that’s it. UCSD does things differently though.

nice, thanks for the info, just wondering if you knew how UCSD does things because i was thinking thats one of the main schools i want to transfer to. thanks

For ucsd it depends on which college you transfer to. Some of them only require a couple UD GE’s with IGETC, while others don’t accept IGETC and require you to still take more LD courses.

ahh ok, that sounds kind of lame if i would have to take extra LD courses that i wouldn’t have to take at other schools. for a philosophy major do you know if IGETC will cover it all at UCSD? the different schools thing is kinda new to me, is it like L&S and then other majors have different schools or does it not go by major?

The college you choose has nothing to do with your major (though I believe that certain colleges are better suited for specific majors).
