IGETC and transfering communty colleges

Hey guys,

I'm curious. If I move from one community college to another, will my IGETC completion from the previous school count towards transfer?
or will i have to do it all over again?

The school I am currently attending is running on a quarter system and the school I plan to attend runs on a semester system.

I got into the UC of my choice already, but I want to change my major(social science to engineering), so attending the UC and changing my major is not really an option considering what a drastic change it would be(not to mention the cost even if it were possible). I'd rather bite the bullet now than regret it all after I graduate.

I've planned it out and I wont be applying to transfer again
until next fall. By then, the classes I took to complete IGETC will be 2 to 3 years old (maybe even 4 by the time I plan to transfer), will that be a problem?

I've been stressing about this all summer. Any thoughts, imput, or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, but you will obviously have to make sure that your new CC has your old CC’s transcript. Additionally, don’t forget to resubmit your HS transcripts to the new CC if you’re using classes for Language etc.

For the most part, CCs offer similar classes and it’s really up to them to figure out which of your classes will apply to where. This is easier if the two CCs are within the same district. Make sure you meet with a counselor in case there are any discrepancies between classes you’ve completed and classes THEY say you’ve completed. They will also look over your transcript before your appointment so they can tell you what class transfers to where on their scale so you will be better prepared for registering. In the long run, the new school is who will be certifying you, so you have to make sure you play by their rules. Overall, it’s up to them to figure out your units and everything. Keep in mind, there is a chance that

Lmao… In retrospect, I’ve attended 4 CCs and 2 4-yr Universities.

4 CCs and 2 4-year universities?

was that for 2 degrees or 1?

I had to take classes at multiple CCs in order to finish pre-reqs. I also had credit from a 4-yr school for my Freshman year.
