Due to an issue with my admissions, I didn't send in my AP scores to UCLA yet. However, when I spoke to the admissions counselor yesterday (Friday) she said for me to go ahead and submit it now. I actually have orientation on Friday, and I doubt that my AP scores will be recieved by then.

For those who already went to Orientation, do you know if it is alright if I bring a copy of my scores? I have the original score sheets with me, I just don't think I have enough time to send them into my CC as well as to UCLA to get it all processed. Also, do CC's take in AP scores to their units, as well as have UCLA take in the AP Scores? Meaning can I get credit for a 4 at my CC as well as credit for UCLA? (Such as a double usage sorta thing).

Regarding IGETC, I still haven't went to my CC to get it since all counselors are booked until August would it just be alright to bring my HS transcripts and all that to get everything passed at orientation? Thanks so much!

the credit for units differ from CC and UC. for example: english lit may be a 3 at a CC; at UC, it’s this strange 2.5 number. you can imagine it’s a headache to calculate.

you CAN send ap scores now, with a rush order of $25 fee, which gives two days for processing, rather than the usual week. if you’re going to bring a copy to admissions itself during your orientation - i don’t think it can be a copy. has to be a hard, official report.

when you request your CC transcripts - there should be a box requesting IGETC certification. or at least, in most CCs. i’d recommend getting copies all the same, of AP and school transcripts - though, again, i wouldn’t say that they’ll take it to clear you, but more of guidance to see where you’re at.

hm yeah just bring your IGETC and AP scores.
what the counselor does with them is they figure out your progress towards your degree and calculate how many units you have and how many more you need to graduate. they also use it to help you figure out what courses you need and what you should be taking in the fall.
