Is an official copy of your high school transcript usually required for the LOTE (language other than english) section of IGETC? I recently found out that the second to last high school I had attended has permanently closed and my records are being stored somewhere in an obscure off-site location. However, I have an unofficial copy of my transcript with the two years of Spanish courses I took listed with passing grades. Typically, would this be enough for certification?
Any input is greatly appreciated!

You’ll have to ask your CC. Your last high school may also have a copy of your transcript from the 2nd to last high school. Also, your last high school’s ttanscript should show the units that were transferred.

My CC required a sealed, official copy of my high school transcript for them to accept it. I brought them an official, unsealed copy (I had opened it myself) and they denied it, so they can definitely be strict about it. I’d check with your CC.

@Polemic Could you tell me what county your CC is in? I agree that some schools are more stringent than others. I’m at a Ventura County CC so I think they’re a little more relaxed about it. My plan is to find out first thing tomorrow morning, but I’ve been anxious all weekend. I SIR’d to Cal and we all know how hard they come down on meeting all the requirements!

@hitherto It’s in Riverside County. Good luck!
