So, I found out that you have to "apply" to be IGETC certified as opposed to being able to just send a certification in (like your transcripts). When I went to orientation my print out said I needed a couple classes to qualify for this but I've talked to my CCC counselor and she said that they will all satisfy the IGETC things, the CCC just has to certify them. Since I have to apply for this they wont be sent out until the end of fall semester (december) so UCLA wont receive them until then. Will this cause any problems?? Is it OK that I'm not gonna be IGETC certified until december/january?

UCLA said you need a couple more classes to complete IGETC?

At my CC all i did was go to admissions and records and they had a form to fill out to get your IGETC certified and i think it was completed in a week or so.

I don't understand why your IGETC won't be certified until december / january unless you still need to complete few classes at your cc

i'm in the same situatation... i need to complete a couple classes this fall semseter to complete my certification so i wont be certified until after I apply but will definately be certified before transferring.. will this cause any problesm with admission?

I dont need to complete any classes, that's the thing.

Ummm, maybe people just don't want to do your work for you? ... call people up, figure it out yourself.

Your college doesn't need to certify anything-- as long as the courses are on your transcript and you apply, the college will see that you've met their minimum requirements, if you have, in fact.

^ that may be true for your college but not for the one i attended

I don't see why it would take more than a week to process it, you need to talk to your schools admissions and records

i went to the graduation office to apply and they sent me a letter saying that i needed one more class to complete IGETC that i would be taking in the fall, but they forgot to count one class that would certified me so i called them up and they corrected it

That is incorrect, when I transfered to Berkeley, I had to have my IGETC certified and sent to Cal. I had to meet w/ a counselor at my CC to have the document signed by the counselor.
