<p>When do you ask to be IGETC certified? From what i understand you have to fill out something from the Admissions office sometime before you transfer? is that right?</p>

<p>You have to fill out the paperwork for IGETC certification at your cc. If you are in the process of completing IGETC now, you apply for certification during this semester. You should not wait until it ends. My suggestion is that you start the process right away. I'm sure they have the certification forms in your cc's counseling center.</p>

<p>Hope that is helpful.</p>

<p>Thanks, that was helpful. I was planning on waiting until mid-June since the deadline is mid-July. Eek.</p>

<p>my schools deadline was feb 28th</p>

<p>I go to SMC, and here is what they say...</p>

<p>"The IGETC requirements should be completed and certified prior to transfer. "Certification" means that the last California Community College
a student attended for a regular term (Fall or Spring for semester schools or Fall, Winter, Spring for quarter schools) prior to transfer to the
UC or CSU system will verify that the student has completed the IGETC requirements. It is the student's responsibility to request IGETC
certification ""during the last semester of attendance"" at Santa Monica College prior to transfer.
Requests for IGETC certification may be filed in the Admissions and Records Office from:
For Spring semester: January 1 through July 31"</p>

<p>I'm sure it differs for others schools, but probably better not to wait.</p>

<p>Shiet, better have this handled tomorrow.</p>

<p>ohhhh i seee... so must of the time it's before the end of the term.
for mine though, i go to fullerton college and on the IGETC sheet it says:
"It is recommended that all IGETC requirements be completed prior to transfer. If you are unable to complete one or two IGETC
courses in the final term before transfer, you may be eligible to complete IGETC after transfer, providing that those courses are not
among those required for admission. See your counselor for more information.
Certification is not automatic, and must be requested after the completion of the last term prior to transfer. This request should be
made in the Admissions and Records Office.'</p>

<p>but i guess i should go make sure in the admission and records office</p>
