IHUM courses vs. SLE

What do you recommend for incoming Freshman? I understand the basic differences...but can you share your experience in terms of grading and course requirements purposes.

If you're in SLE, I'll be one of the resident tutors there next year :).

Idk, but I'd like to know more as well.

there really is no reason to be in SLE unless you have a strong desire to study the material, which is great if you do, but it's not for everyone. i actually do not know anyone in SLE so I can't comment on what it's like, but if you don't give a crap about the humanities just don't even bother, you'll have a strong hatred for IHUM anyways.

They are completely different programs. SLE is a really intense program that will be a key part of both your academic and your non-academic life. It will shape your social life, for better or for worse, for the next four years. Unless you really, really love the humanities, don't do SLE.

IHUM, on the other hand, is a standard course just like the others you'll be taking. You can get really into it and learn a lot, or you can muddle through to satisfy the requirement. The latter is probably not possible in SLE.
