I got accepted to both Drexel university for Business and Engineering and Illinois Institute of technology for mechanical engineering. I believe both are amazing schools but I do not know which one to pick.

Thank you ^ I am facing the exact same difficulty and was thinking of creating a thread after decisions from other universities came. Anyways I got 25k scholarship at IIT and 18K Drexel. The plus point of IIT is also that it is cheaper than Drexel. The plus points of Drexel are:
There is Co-op program
I got into Honors society and hopefully will also get into Star Research program
My Brother is in Drexel

Can anyone rank Drexel and IIT based on their eng courses and overall perfomance?

thanks,
i got 20K scholarship at IIT, yea even i want some input on their overall performance.

I just saw this thread, sorry about the late response. i will only talk about IIT as I am a faculty member there.

@optimistcer - IIT does have a co-op program. My son did it as a number of other engineering students do. It is just not a required part of the curriculum. Instead, IIT has the http://ipro.iit.edu program which is a requirement for all students and provides a structured project-based learning environment.

IIT students do quite well in their future salaries and they get jobs at a high rate. This year we have had over 160 companies come to our Career fairs each semester. The mechanical engineering program is one of most highly ranked (if you put any stock in rankings) and students have opportunities to get involved in research throughout their time at the university.

Finally, we have been implementing a number of co-terminal degree programs, including with our Business School. In 5 years, students get a B.S. and M.S. all under the same financial aid package.

I can’t tell you any details about Drexel but it is certainly has a strong engineering program as well.
