I am almost finished with exams, just AP Spanish and IB Spanish...

I am a junior trying to decide whether to stick it out for full diploma. I'm on course for: math methods SL, history HL, English HL, Bio HL, japanese SL, and psych SL.
If i get out now, i'll still do math, history, english, and japanese, but next year I'd take AP physics instead of Bio II and i'd skip psych for a more fun elective, while also NOT doing the fat essay.
What are you hoping to gain by sticking with the whole diploma???
Has anyone had it really help them?
I need someone to talk me into it - besides the GC in charge of making sure everyone doesn't tank.

orjr, considering that even if you left, you would still take some IB Exams. I would say you might as well do the full diploma. At IB graduation, all the former seniors have said that IB has helped them tremendously in college. They said they were really prepared for their first year while other people around them got stressed out by the workload. As for credit, I don't think IB exams get as much recognition as they deserve...still I have never heard of anyone getting the diploma regretting the experience.

As for the essay, it isn't that bad. Time management is key.

yeah. I change my mind every week. it's like so much work is already in, why go out ----- but it would be so great to have some space next year....
I play two varsity sports, edit the school newspaper, and am an officer in three groups, plus alot of time with DECA.
Basically - I'm tired. oh yeah - and TOK at my school is an "early bird" class so it starts at like 6:10 am
like I said - tired.

I understand...you have ECs plus IB= exhaustion a lot of the time. I know that feeling as well. Still, like you said, you have have already put in so much work. My IB Bio teacher likened IB to a marathon...it can be grueling at times...but you are getting closer to the finish line. A little cheesy yes...but I think it fits perfectly. There were times when I wanted to quit, but I am so glad I didn't. IB was 4 years in the making for me...Pre-IB in 9th/10th and IB in 11/12. I suppose I get a sense of accomplishment because IB reminds me of boot camp training for college. :p
