<p>Le sigh... about 2/3 of my friends are Dems, too, so I'm pretty accustomed to feeling beaten. Although, the conservatives among us do try to invoke the parent rule when things get really dire (the large majority of parents where I live vote conservatively) and point out that between the Republican students and parents, the Democrat's puny # of votes in my community is trumped incredibly.</p>

<p>Somehow, I doubt that's happening here, but that's okay - CC ♥ crosses party lines!!</p>

<p>Other [slightly amusing] political sidenote - I finally heard from UMich yesterday; until then my family joked that it was taking so long because I wasn't getting in, as they could tell just from one whiff at my application (despite not mentioning anything political) that I was a Republican. </p>

<p>Did anyone else apply there? Those essays were so obnoxious. For the diversity essay I really, really wanted to write a sarcastic, "All sorts of minorities are important on campus. I plan on bringing the oft-persecuted but highly regarded Republican WASP element to your campus next fall...."</p>

<p>Well, seeing as that won't be for another eight or nine months, I think she has plenty of time to enjoy her time on the Princeton board (although I still think she'll be sticking around after that to tell next year's applicants what to do to get into P'ton, since she will have).</p>

<p>don't get overly excited at the prospect of getting rid of me, ilcapo - i sent in my deposit, but only to make sure that if i do end up going, i don't get stuck in an absolutely hellish dorm... it's my safety.</p>
