Chance me for: EA- Harvard, RD- Brown, Georgetown, UNC Chapel Hill, JHU, Yale, UVA, UPenn, Holy Cross, Southwestern, Columbia, Princeton

Your GPA is a bit low. How is your class rank?

your gpa is a bit low you still have a chance at georgetown but might want to add more schools in the 30% range especially since it’s harder to get into uva and unc from out of state

Insanely and SAT scores and your ECs are awesome! GPA is a bit low, but your ECs compensate
EA- Harvard = Reach
RD- Brown = Low Reach
Georgetown = High Match
UNC Chapel Hill = Match
JHU = High Match
Yale = Reach
UVA = Match
UPenn = Low Reach
Holy Cross = Low Match
Southwestern = Safety
Columbia = Low Reach
Princeton = Reach

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1776808-chance-me-for-major-business-schools-low-gpa-great-sats-and-ecs.html?new=1

Ivy leagues and Georgetown: reaches.
UNC Chapel Hill and UVa: match if you are IS, reach if you are OOS
JHU:low reach

I have to agree with some of the others and say that your Gpa is a bit on the low side but all those senior ap classes should help with that! Your scores are insane and I like the variety of subject tests. Very good ECs too.
Harvard = Reach
RD- Brown = Possibly reach or high match
Georgetown = High Match
UNC Chapel Hill = Safety/match
JHU = High Match
Yale = Reach
UVA = Match
UPenn = Low Reach
Holy Cross = Honestly don’t know much about this school to be honest sorry
Southwestern = Safety
Columbia = Lower end of the reaches
Princeton = Reach most likely

Chance me back please! :slight_smile: applying to similar schools so maybe I’ll see you there one day

Thanks guys, for class rank I’m not 100% sure but definitely to 10%

Harvard = Reach
Brown = Possibly high match
Georgetown = Match
UNC Chapel Hill = Match
JHU = Match
Yale = Reach
UVA = Match
UPenn = Low Reach
Holy Cross = Match
Southwestern = Safety
Columbia = High Match
Princeton = Reach

I think all the schools on your list are matches except the Ivies, which are high reaches, and Holy Cross+Southwestern, which should be safeties. Chance me?

Harvard = Reach
Brown = High match
Georgetown = Match
UNC Chapel Hill = Match
JHU = Match
Yale = Reach
UVA = Match
UPenn = Low Reach
Holy Cross = Match
Southwestern = Safety
Columbia = Low Reach
Princeton = Reach

I agree with the person above me for most, and I think the people stating that all the ivies are high reaches are being a bit irrational. Your scores are excellent and your extracurricular activities are as well. I think that Brown and UPenn are great high matches, and every school besides the ivies on your list are practically safeties besides JHU and Georgetown, which are match schools. As a sophomore I would visit some colleges and see what you like, because I think you would be a fantastic candidate for Columbia, Penn, and Brown in regular decision, and maybe you’ll end up liking one enough that you can send it an ED.

@dennis052798, I have the same SAT score as the OP, so I’ve been doing some research. Don’t misconstrue my conservatism as spite or ignorance–I think OP has a fantastic profile, and she has as good a chance as anyone. But, the most of the Ivies, with acceptances below 10%, are high reaches. Looking back, though, UPenn and Brown are probably low reaches.

I’m not going to comment on your chances for these schools but I will tell you to give s lot of thought to where you apply early. D had a perfect ACT and slightly higher GPA and she was rejected by four Ivys and Georgetown. Any school with a 20 percent acceptance rate is a reach for everybody. Be realistic and apply early where you have a good chance. Harvard RD admissions rate this year was 3 percent, one in thirty

@supercilious I apologize for coming off as brash. I will rephrase it better. I believe that despite the fact that the ivy leagues are very hard to get into, I think you are more qualified than a lot of the accepted students at Brown and UPenn. So despite the fact that your chances may be a bit lower than usual in the grand scheme, due to the ivy admissions, I think you should be more confident than most applicants.

Also another thing to consider: due to the liberal studies nature of Brown, females have an acceptance rate about 3.5% lower than their male counterparts.
