I don't know where else to ask this on CC so if you try help me out I'll chance you back :)

I'm a high school senior and there were some classes I didn't give my best effort in sophomore and freshman year. I'd like to take more classes in those subjects now to show colleges I can do better in math and foreign language, and raise my GPA.

My school has block scheduling. We only have 4 classes/semester.
I was thinking of finishing this current semester, and for my final semester, withdrawing from my school and taking cyber school, where I can get the remaining 2 credits I need to graduate, and be able to take more extra classes online to help my GPA and show colleges I can do better in math and foreign language
(have an A in my math course now, but have Bs and Cs in my past math courses)

I'd be taking like 2 math courses at once online. Can't fit those it in my schedule at school along with another foreign language course.

Would switching to cyber school be a good idea?

I'm also planning to take 4 AP tests this year and have a 1950 SAT.
Schools I want to apply to......

Maryland
James Madison
Vermont
UMass
William and Mary
Lehigh
Penn State (I'm a PA resident)

I’d also like to take 1 more science that I can’t fit in my school schedule. My high school doesn’t accept cyber school credits so I would have to withdraw for cyber school credits to count. :/

4 APs is a lot. I took 3 AP classes my junior year, and it was a lot of pressure; I had the 3 hardest AP teachers in my school. I think you should think about taking college night classes, and sending in your transcripts. You have a good shot for all of those schools though. Good luck!
Chance me back if you can! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1229666-chance-me-upenn-ed.html#post13354396

My high school grades are As and Bs and 3 Cs, took all honors/AP classes.
Should have all As this semester.

Those 3 C’s may be a problem. Does your school weight honors as well?

Yeah. But most of my honors/APs have been Bs.

I used to not try too hard, plus I have a learning disability which is also why I struggled until I got an IEP that gives me more time on tests.
I’ve been a straight A student so far this year.

okay so write on the struggles youve had with your learning disabs in your essay.

That’s a good idea. I’m also applying to an LAC and 3 state schools that are good but you probably haven’t heard of unless you live in PA.

Yeah, i live in CA, but I think you have a good chance! luck :)

For the schools I know about, I think W&M is a reach, JMU is a lock, and Maryland is a match, just based on SAT scores. Penn St. should also be fairly easy for you. I would definitely try to up your SAT score and elaborate a bit on your learning disability.

Also, what are your other credentials, such as extracurriculars, GPA, etc?

Please chance me back!

chanced all of you :)

All looks pretty good to me. I’m not too familiar with those colleges, and those c’s maaaaay factor in badly on some of them, but overall it looks fine. I don’t know about cyber school, though-depends on school.
