<p>But there is a catch.....you will have to help me with mine....</p>

<p>My common app essay has a topic of an experience I had with racism and something eye opening to me.....</p>

<p>Now my question is, if I am an Indian American, would this be an appropriate topic for me to talk about? </p>

<p>It is a long and fairly personal essay, but I have been told it might be hurting my chances because it is a controversial topic and might be offputting?</p>

<p>What do you guys think?</p>
