Thank you Swimfan You just alleviated some of my anxiety

That math section really threw me off. Much harder than the April 10th ACT and the practice tests Iâve taken. Does anyone remember the answer to the equation of an oval of the math section?

And on the dark matter science passage, what was the answer to the question that had the choices sqrt 2, 2, 4.

Are curves for the ACT determined prior to the administration?

Unfortunately, it appears as though I did rather poorly (especially on Science). Luckily, however, my score doesnât matter.

^ The answers to the ellipse was the first choiceâŠ
Something along the lines of x^2/169 + y^2/25 = 1

The ellipse was (x^2)/169 + (y^2)/25 = 1

⊠I think? I donât really remember the number under y^2, but this should be the correct answer because the a variable should be under x^2 since the major axis ran horizontally.

Edit: cribelle beat me to it XD

Yes, the ellipse questionâs answer was the first choice.

@silverturtle

All curves are determined before the tests is given because not all tests are graded at once.

And on the dark matter science passage, what was the answer to the question that had the choices sqrt 2, 2, 4.

^ Iâd like to know this too. XD

The English section seemed to have more subjective questions than the SAT Writing section generally does. I wasnât sure, for example, on the question asking whether the information about placing the candles should be kept.

Oh and does anyone remember the answer to the math one about the car that had a 15 gallon tank. All I remember is that could not get a good answer so I put the closest thing which was about 770 (the second to the largest number)

Yeah the English section really did. There were maybe 4 question on one passage which said âWhich of the following would best supportâŠâ Iâve never seen that before. This was a funny test todayâŠ

I said it should be kept to help the reader visualize.
Not sure if thatâs right though.

Also, what was the answer to the last question on the math section?
The one with the two circles and asking what the tan of one angle - the tan of the other angle was.

^^ I believe my answer was 700 and something as well.

Edit: Now that Swimfan mentions it, I recall having put 960 also. Initially, I forgot to multiply by two, however.

The car mileage one was the largest number. The car averaged 32 miles per gallon on the highway and had 15 gallons. Two tanks would be 30 * 32 which would be 960 miles total.

@cribelle The answer was 2.

I think I put (B), but I had to do it in about six seconds.

The car mileage was 960 because on the highway it averaged 32 and 15232 is 960.

Edit: I got beat. xD

Crap I misread the question.

I think I put the answer in which both quantities in the denominator were positive.

@derek260 (r1-r2)/(r1+r2)

@Swimfan, yeah I got that. I just posted it wrong. I did so bad on this ACTâŠ

The passage about Movies and Indians. What was the answer to the question about direct vs. film maker?

Directors have a narrower focus.
