Illinois extends application deadline

@KunjiBoy‌

I will freak out! No not really, but I would be surprised and a little upset. He is way more laid back than me about the whole process, so all will be well.

@YZamyatin
I’m in the same boat!! I think I will be disappointed but take solace in the fact that my S is totally chill. He is completely into programming for the FIRST Robotics team and is working late into the night on making his own programming language! And here I am…
Also I think that the CS apps might not have been that much different. I think its safe to say that competition for CS spots at any of the top 15 schools is brutal - most applicants spread the risk. I see many of the same CC ppl on many of the same college threads.

While there is no promise my kid will be admitted to the engineering dept, I am glad he is not majoring in CS. That just seems brutal no matter where you apply. Best of luck to all of you!

Freak out averted, he got in to CS in ENG. No word on honors or scholarships. Just a quick text update; haven’t seen him yet.

Congrats to all who got in and to those who didn’t, especially those whose first choice was Illinois, I’m sorry. It is cliche and repeated endlessly around here, but only because it is true. What you do trumps where you do it every time.

@YZamyatin‌ Congratulations! Same outcome here - don’t know if its first choice yet but will plan to visit in the next few days if the snow demons can care to spare us (Boston) a few days!!

@takanuva and @YZamyatin Congrats to both of you!! I think it’s more stressful for the parents. :wink:

Congratulations to you two stalwarts! My kid got into his major. Good luck to you and yours!

Thanks and congratulations to you too @88jm19 and @KunjiBoy.

Thanks! and congrats to @KunjiBoy too! #LifeIsGood :slight_smile:
