Illinois Financial Aid

How good is Illinois' financial aid? I know with the current economic situation less and less funding is going towards schools. My EFC was in the 3000s and I qualify for Pell Grants. I just think Illinois in state will still be too much for me to afford, and it's a shame. Looks like I'll be going to community college.

If you are in-state and considering a major that is included in this program, you are crazy not to look into the Parkland Pathway program at UIUC. You stand to save 10s of thousands on $$$ and you can live in the dorms, get advisement on campus, take a class on campus towards your major, join any student group, use the gym, and take all your other classes at Parkland College which is a ten-minute bus ride (smaller classes).

You pay community college tuition and get a U of I student ID. If you are already accepted to UIUC you can still apply to Parkland (priority by March 15th) and submit the supplemental app. If you don’t like it you can move on to U of I full time next year and pay full price.

We are out-of-state and can’t do it, but you in-state students CAN!! Check it out!!
