Ah, do what you want. A person that smart probably has his mind made up and has his reasons.

Cowart, that’s exactly what happened to me! 34 the first time, then was forced to take the state test, didn’t take it seriously, but then a 36, whoop. I even had the same section breakdown as you. (though ours was w/o writing)

and silverturtle, though I’ve banned you from my forums, I will say this to you: you should send it. Showing you can do awesome on both tests can only help you. I mean, they are slightly different tests of course-- it isn’t the same thing as retaking your SAT, receiving a 2360-90, and sending that in with your 2400.

Yeah, what was that about? I never got an explanation.

silverturtle, wouldn’t colleges know that you have taken the ACT because you are from Illinois? If all juniors from Illinois have to take it, then I’m sure colleges might wonder why didn’t send. They’ might even assume it’s worse (because it is, just ever so slightly). Sending it in might actually be a good idea because that way they don’t assume it’s like a 34 or something.

Honestly, silver, submit your ACT score. It can only help you. I submitted a 35 and it didn’t hurt me.

I feel really really stupid compared to you guys on here…but seriously, please stop complaining about 35 or 36 composites. They are VERY good scores, and there are millions of people that would kill to have their names attached to those-less than a tenth of a percent of ACT takers get a 36. So be grateful and proud of yourselves! My score was still in the 96th national percentile and was not close to a 35 or 36, and I am okay with it. Anyway, here are my scores. I took it again yesterday and think I did MUCH better on science!! I didn’t have any prep either time, so I think I did well considering that factor.

I have no idea how I did on math this time around…I didn’t know how to do the last question, where you find the roots of an equation that has x cubed, x squared, x, and a number. I couldn’t factor it and use the quadratic formula…well it’s over now, I will live. Plus I had to sit behind this guy I haven’t seen in over 3 years but he bullied me every day of junior high…I was terrified. That screwed up my concentration a bit. Ugh.

either use polynomial long division or synthetic and then use STFS or quadratic formula but if you think about it you can just tell from looking at it.

Yeah, it required synthetic division. If you knew that, it was pretty easy. You couldn’t really factor it because it had 2 imaginary numbers

Ya you had to do the (x-2)/whatever was inside then quadratic equation. Answer was d

Thanks, I get it now. Shoot, I should have known that right away!! That’s too bad. :frowning: Oh well. I can always take it a third time if I need to.

Yehh got it right! What was the answer to the one before it, was it A or something?

^it was A.

YES!!! I had a hard time on the last 10 lol. What about the one before that one, if you happen to remember it… lol

^now you’re pushing it. lol

The one before that was A. It was the abs value one. Correct answer x-1<B 1-x<B

I got that one wrong. I’m bitter.

I know, sorry! Haha. I either put A or B… I know that the last few questions were mainly A or B.

I know this may sound weird, but does the ACT record you? During the test there was this random flash and everybody looked up… It came from the projector, it was so random! (I probably sound stupid now).

Yes, they’re recording you right now.

Hahaha. I wonder what that random flash was, like literally everybody looked up when we saw it.
