Hey, I'm currently a sophomore at Illinois State University. Hopefully by the end of this semester I will be able to keep my 3.8+ GPA. I participate in a few clubs and an honors society. I was wondering if I have a good shot at getting into UIUC Finance seeing as I will have 55 hours completed and all of the required transfer courses. I think my essay is really good and I know Illinois places a strong emphasis on the essay.

If anybody would like to read my essay and let me know I'd appreciate it! Also, if my chances aren't good at Illinois, are there any other in or out of state Finance programs that have a similar cost? Thanks!

Good luck…they admitted four transfers for business last year…oh and the deadline passed for Spring and Fall’s is fast approaching. The earlier you submit the app, the better. I would reccomend having a professor or a honor college counselor review your essay before sending your app in.

Kev946 I am trying to transfer into thier business school for finance also
I am currently a junior at Clemson. I have a 3.9 and should be getting a 4.0 this semseter. I am in three honor fraternitys and a couple other clubs and i feel like both of us have a really good shot of getting in. I am not sure where LaDalicious got that number from because a school that has 30,694 students it is hard to believe that they only accepted four. Good luck and i hope we both get in.

I actually talked to the admissions department, and the admit ~70 business transfers a year out of ~300 applicants. I wish you the best of luck and remember to write a really good essay! It’s so important

I got my info from the Sept. 25th transfer visit day at the school. They had a panel with admissions counselor Brianna Greg and that’s the number she gave out. It seems like almost every student in attendance that day was a Business student. I wasn’t trying to discourage anyone from applying or shootig anyome down. But from what I heard during the applicaton process, as a non-business student, it’s a steep competiton to get admitted into the school of business at UIUC.

I also just talked to a CC transfer who got into finance with a 3.6 GPA and president of the economics club. He told me that most people who got into business had similar gpa’s.
