ILR class selection---confused

Okay, so I'm entering ILR and I have been assigned Organizational Behavior and Microeconomics. Will the ILR colloquium be assigned to me later?

As for picking classes, all I can really pick right now is my elective. Should I choose one now that classes are open? Or should I wait until orientation week? Is it even possible to pick one right now?

Can I pick two electives? Can I take U.S Labor History first semester as well as OB, giving me a 16 credit semester (with one elective)?

Thanks for your help.

you can not take labor history and OB as they are assigned. you will also add a FWS.

thats 9 credits…leaving you room for 2 electives.

FWS 3
ILR colloquium 1
Intro to OB 3
intro to Micro 3
Elective 3
Elective 3

=16 credits, does this look like a solid number for me? I guess I should start picking electives right away then.

It’s weird I have not been assigned ILRID 1500.

ILRID 1500 probably happens during orientation…

Yeah don’t worry no one in ILR has been assigned ILRID 1500 yet I haven’t even seen it in the registrar.

ResurgamBell, just wondering what does that class consist of? Also is it actually diffiicult or is it one of those easy A type of classes?

hmm i’ll be a senior this fall so i took that class a long time ago…but as you may know it’s pass/fail…

that course is up to the discretion of the professor. i think your faculty advisor is the one you end up having for that class.

all we did was have discussion…hah we did read a book though LOL! the book was interesting:

My Freshman Year: What a Professor Learned by Becoming a Student (Cornell University Press)

now we might have done this b/c i had professor gold who is known to be one of ILR’s toughest professors (infamous labor law professor). he’s not teaching this fall so you probably wont have him.

Keep in mind you’ll also be taking a PE class most likely. I’d also try to knock off some distribution requirements by taking a science class or civ class
