ILR essay

So I just finished a week long process of cutting down my ILR essay from over 750 word to 582. Is that an acceptable length or should I try to get closer to 500?

Thanks!

closer to 500, they won’t hesitate to just stop reading it after word 500.

****! but thanks for the reply:/ I’ll try to reduce it as much as possible.

Down to 515! Thanks gomestar for pushing me to shorten it. I think it is as good as it was before. I’ll read it over a couple of times to see if I can take out a few words.

general rule is 10% over and under, so 550 max. 515 is perfectly fine.

my essay was slightly over 600. and i was accepted, but i’d have to agree with tun and gomestar that if you can cut it down you should cut it down.

it’s just one of those things - how does an adcom feel that day? They may care, they may not. Just don’t take a stupid risk.
