ILR first year classes

What kind of schedule do most ILR freshman students have?
Also, what are the math requirements needed?

all ILR students are required to pass a short math test (covers up to algebra II)

the only other math is statistics but this stats class is not about derivation of the number more than it is about learning terms and such

most freshman have microecon, labor history, organizational behavior, freshman writing seminar and an elective + PE

How difficult is the math entrance test for ILR? Is it something potential ILRies should study for?

No. It’s an insult to your intelligence.

Hahaha. thanks Cayuga.

do they have science requirements cayuga?
thankss!

There is a science and technology distribution requirement, but I think pretty much any science course will fulfill it.

^That is pretty funny because a friend of mine in HumEc is doing exactly that right now. The actual test has more than 6 questions though, but it is very easy.

thanks guys!
So, what is basically the hardest class you will have to take in freshman year?

for me it was micro/macroeconomics b/c i’m just not an economics person…it all depends on what your weaknesses are.

So does everyone take at least 6 classes their freshman fall year because they are required or is there some way to get out of them?

That math assessment is required of all SUNY-entering undergrads who didn’t get at least a 3 on AP Calc. So if you didn’t get at least a 3 on Calc and you’re going to Ag and Hum Ec, you’re taking the math exam too!

you dont have to take any courses you dont want…and you can start with 12 credits only if you’d like…

I am going to be a freshman in A&S this fall. How difficult is it for me to transfer to ILR?

Will I be behind in any required coursework, or have difficulty in meeting any requirements? The reason for my switch is because I am pretty bent towards a pre-law track, and from what I hear, ILR is simply better for that.

Thoughts?

^ I’m definitely considering that too. After i got in and started learning more about the school and each college, i realized that I wanted to transfer from CAS to ILR as well. Would I need to take certain classes first semester to tranfer to second semester? =D

Sums it up pretty well.

I know like 5 people internally trasnferring into ILR right now. One was a gov’t major in CAS. I don’t think it is too difficult to do, just meet with the ILR people about it, the registrar is probably the one to ask about which classes to take.

while ILR is a better pre-law prep IMO (and many others)…

you need to study what you want to study…
