I have been accepted to ILR at Cornell and Ross at Michigan. I have visited both campuses and am still weighing my options. I know Cornell has the Ivy League name and a great network, but so does Michigan with the most living alumni. How well does ILR work for someone trying to get into business?

As an ILR student it’s very easy to take the basic business classes (finance/accounting/marketing etc) and banks, F500 and consulting firms recruit a bunch of people from ILR every year - around a third of the class. Another third end up working HR if that’s something you’re interested in.

Only downside is if you’re sure you want a business career, you won’t be thrilled with the ILR distribution requirements like Labor history, labor law and organizational behavior among others.
