ILR Freshman and Transfer Applicants

I just wanted to make this thread for the applicants to ILR (which I have fallen in love with) so everyone can see whats going on in their application neck of the woods. Post your stats, where you're transferring from, and any other candid comments or discussions pertaining to ILR. So I guess I'll start...

Transfer for Fall '06' (Current Freshman)
Onondaga Community College
3.6 GPA (15 credits)
18 credits spring semester

I'm applying as a freshman and under the EOP program.

transfer for spring '06
UCLA
3.86 GPA
~60 quarter units, don't know how that translates into credits

Anybody know if I'll be at a disadvantage being out-of-state? I'm a CA native.

Only from a tution standpoint. There's reduced tutition for instate students, but admissions-wise, there is no preference for instate students.

Applying as a freshman to ILR - fall '06...I looove the program as well!

there's no big difference for out of state vs. in state in admissions.

And no, i'm not an applicant, i'm already there. :)

i had a 2.6 gpa and a 1060 on my SATs in high school. needless to say, my high school grades were absolutely terrible and are no reflection of myself as a student whatsoever. im a freshman at ithaca college right now (right across the street) and i'd like to know from the current ILR students if i would have any chance of transferring there for the spring on my sophomore year with a 3.7-3.8 or so with leadership position in business clubs at ithaca. do any of you know anyone who was in my position at cornell? any feedback would be great

it'd be a long shot, but wait until you have at least 4 semesters of grades behind you. Everybody i know that transfered had a fantastic HS record/SATs. Work on the grades, then see what you can do ... you'll really have to prove that you have changed.

Along with what gomestar said, alot of factors go into ILR admissions. Just from speaking with admissions reps., everything from a rigorous coursework, actual job and work experience, and getting alot of the required courses out of the way before you apply to Cornell can play a major part in the application. Try to get in touch with ILR to talk about what courses you should take. Attend Transfer Day (big help for me), and just ask questions. If he doesn't mind (which I'm sure he won't), just PM Gomestar...he knows his stuff.

I am applying to transfer for Fall 2006- I got to UIllinois right now and I will have a 4.0 this first semester...tryingto transfer into Arts and Sciences for anthropology

Is this really all the transfer applicants? Better chance for me then...lol
