ILR Transfer (Chance me?)

I am a student at a mid-tier university. Right now, I am a college sophomore with a 3.2 GPA. I had a 3.27 GPA in high school. My SAT superscore is a 2090 (1330 without the writing section). Despite my grades and scores, I have interned for Members of Congress in their state and D.C. offices and even spent the summer working at a federal agency with close ties to labor issues. I know that these may not be much, but I have done my best to demonstrate my dedication to the labor movement through organizations on- and off-campus, and can display this in my supplemental essays. A close professor has offered to write a recommendation on my behalf.

Is there any chance that I could still be admitted as a transfer student for the spring semester? If not, would it be possible for me to transfer during my junior year if my grades improved this semester?

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

You would honestly have to have award-winning essays and rec letters…two EC’s aren’t going to make up for such a low gpa in both HS and college. I would aim for a 4.0 or higher all year this year, and start doing more outside of class, and then decide if you would still like to transfer there next year. Your SAT is not terrible, but they also don’t require it for ILR…

You have a good start with the EC’s that you have now, so I would continue to expand your involvement in those

Cornell (and ILR specifically) are more about fit than numbers. If you can really express your fit well, then you have a decent chance of getting in.
