ILR vs. Human Ecology?! HELP ME PLEASE!

I visited Cornell and fell in love, but i am having trouble deciding whether to apply to ILR or Human Ecology (and major in policy analysis and management.) I am definitely applying early and I want to go to law school after and maybe work with international law or policy. At this point I think I will apply to both, but which do you think should be my first choice? And is one school easier to get into than the other? Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! THANKS :)

Also, what are my chances with:
97.6 weighted gpa
1410/1600 sat
750 sat 2 u.s.
670 sat 2 chem
(I took math 1 in october)
6 APs, 1 college class, and 5 honors classes throughout high school
ECs:
regional board member of a jewish youth group
dance (everyday for the past 4 years)
model congress
peer mentoring
help autistic children with art projects (weekly)
nhs
nehs
secretary of nshs
hebrew tutor
camp counselor for the past two summers
spent 4 months in israel sophomore year

pretty solid jewish crew in and around the ILR school…not sure about PAM…

i would say look at the courses you will be taking as a PAM major…and which courses you will take as an ILR major…

go based on course descriptions…if you email professors i’m sure they could give you a syllabus to see what a class at cornell might look like :)

The programs emphasis different things. ILR is much more focused on labor, and sociology from what I have gathered talking to friends in the program. Whereas PAM would have more of a law/management focus. They are both very much pre-law oriented.

I think ILR is generally the more natural choice, but i’m sure either option will work. Also, once you get here, if you find that you are in the wrong place, the university makes it fairly easy for people to transfer colleges, so I wouldn’t get to hung up on it.

thank you so much! i think that i am going to go with ILR. i just need to decide by this weekend! ah!
