I'm a confused junior!!!! Chance me

Hiiii I literally just found out about this website and I’m crying reading everyone else’s stats…

My school doesn’t do much to inform us about the college process so I have been researching on my own. However, all the websites I visited give me different information everytime so I’m just confused. Hopefully you guys can help :slight_smile:

New SAT: 1310 (R/W 680 Math 630) Essay: 6,6,8
ACT: taking it soon! But I took a practice one before and got a 29
Unweighted is a 96.9 and I do not know my weighted. It’s above a 4.0
My school tells us our ranks during senior year! However I know a girl with the same average and she was 60/963
I’ve been in JROTC since freshman year and I hope to continue Senior year
Female, Pacific Islander
Family makes around 90,000-100,000 I think?

Hook: I came to America when I was 5 without knowing any English?? Idk if that’s a hook but…

Freshman Year:
(no APs allowed for this year) All honors classes

Sophomore
AP World
Everything else is honors

Junior
AP ENGLISH
Only honors this year is French & Physics
I have regular classes in Precalc, JROTC, Us History

Senior year I hope to take 2 APs :slight_smile: (Bio and Literature)

National Honors Society (ARISTA)

EC:
Drill team since freshman year. (Won first place in all of my state/city competitions. Competed in a national level last year and got fourth place overall)
We do Barclays center performances/parades/memorials
I hope to be a team commander by next year
*Drill team practices 6 Days a week!! During the weekdays it’s about 3hrs and weekends are either 3-6 hours long. I can’t have a lot of extra curriculars)
Pre-Med Club
Animal Humane Society
Very involved with my church
A lot of volunteering (idk the hours)

But yeah that’s all!!! I’ve looked around some schools in NY. I think a SUNY is a good match for me. What do you think?

Thank you for replying!! I visited Stony and Binghamton recently and I think I’ll apply to both. I haven’t considered other SUNYs other than those two.

Those are great schools. They are big universities. That may suit you. You may also want to consider the SUNY liberal arts colleges, Geneseo.

I think binghamton would be a good choice for you. Also, if you don’t mind the rural location, geneseo is a great choice. Stony brook is fine, especially if you want to major in prehealth or stem but just note that it is a commuter school and people either commute every day or go home on the weekends so you won’t get that residential atmosphere you might find in the other schools you are looking at. But if you live on long island and don’t mind living at home and commuting you can save a lot of money.
