I'm a current NYU student-ask away! VERSION TWO!!

i was wondering this, and I don't know if I ever asked it.....how much was the downpayment when you sent in your acceptance confirmation?

$500 and it go towards your housing

Oh! Good to know :) thank you!

are nyu students offered free classes at the gym as well?

How hard would it be for a Gallatin student to finish in 3 years (I'll have enough AP credit to almost be a 2nd semester freshman upon entering). Thank you!

i'm not really sure superman but i think so
and GoGetter therees no need to rush to get all your credits completed.

are early decision kids considered for the scholars program?

do EDers go to university day?

not sure for either of those questions sorry

do you know if there was a University day for GSP? From the other threads that I've read, it looks like there was.........

if there is, around when do you find out?

I was accepted into GSP, and I was wondering why I have to ak for "an official offer of admission to GSP." And I tried going to the website they included in the letter but that site has been moved and I don't know where to complete that response form.

Anyone else have the same problem? Can someone please post the correct link.

you have to ask for an official offer of admissions to GSP because if you dont they will give up your spot to someone else. just take the offer, its not like a binding contract or anything

NYU premed program, does it feed into the grad school? Meaning does the admissions committee give preference to NYU undergrad alums?

no one knows the answer to this question. some ppl say that grad schools like to take their own undergrad students while other people say that grad schools prefer for their undergrads to explore new environments

in response to the nyu premed program question, the general trend at nyu med school is oddly enough "no." nyu med school is really competitive, as is any other med school in the city. my RA is premed and knows most of the premed people in his class pretty well, and of those people, only he and i think 1 or 2 other people got into nyu med. its an oddity, and i dont know why they do it, but its probably because the applicant pool is so strong every year, that they just wont let people at nyu with an average appplication walk on in. kinda unfair, but makes sense.

How is nyu's premed program? And what are the stats to apply to the premed?

HEY! I just got my invite to GSP on monday...I want to go to NYU for english and creative writing--but i also have to opportunity to attend the CUNY honors program at hunter for free, dorming included. Is NYU worth the arm and the leg that its gonna cost me?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! respond at dying2live129@aol.com

It is distressing to read about all of the letters going out to NYU applicants, Sunday in the Square, University Day, and others. At this point, should I assume that since I have not received anything, I'm out? I applied to Stern, my stats are: 2180 - SAT SAT 2 - 760 M, 710 CR, 720 Mol. BIO. GPA - 3.7 - unweighted. Debate Team Captain, Jazz Band, lotsa comm. ser., top school.

MATTGUY thats a hard decision because I'm from NYC and I know alotta ppl in CUNY Honors at it does have a lot of perks plus its free and you get $1000 to spend. so its definetly a hard decision so good luck

Jazz guy- don't worry about anything, your stats look good, all decisions will be out in 2 weeks so wait a little

jazz guy - yeah dont panic yet. from what i understand, lots of people who were admitted in previous years dont get invites. april 1st will tell all! =)
