I'm a current senior working on my regular decision application. Chance me please? :)

Hi everyone!

I'm a senior at a New England boarding preparatory school. I'm South Asian (Bangladeshi). We had 14/48 people accepted last year. I am excited to be applying to Georgetown as one of my top schools! What I am most worried about are my standardized test scores, though I do think I'll retake the SAT once more (and do you guys think I should after reading this?)

GPA: 3.87
SAT: 2290 -- 680 Math, 760 CR, 750 W
AP's: 5 Apush, 4 Bio, 4 World History
SAT II's: 690 US history, 750 Biology, 750 Lit

Current classes:

Honors Greek Literature - A
AP Psychology - A+
AP AB Calc - A
Honors Science Research - A-
Honors Anatomy & Physiology - A

Extracurriculars: Pod Leader of Mock Trial Club, 70 hours of community service, research intern at a neurology lab at the Yale School of Medicine, sub-varsity soccer team captain, member of several clubs for all my years but no leadership position

1 very strong supplementary rec from my PI at the lab, 1 pretty strong rec from my Apush teacher, and 1 decent rec from my science research teacher. If anyone has any advice on how to improve my chances, I'd be really grateful to hear it! Please let me know if there's anything else you want to know about me before giving me your opinions. Thanks so much in advance :)

Just FYI your SAT score doesn’t match up: 680+760+750 = 2190

Do you have a class rank?

What school at Georgetown are you applying to?

Need to know the school… I was accepted to SFS and I did a chance me in this thread too. My scores were 2030/31 (32 superscored) so I think you’re fine in that department. I Know that georgetown allows two teacher recommendations and one counselor report so I would check with gtown to see if they would like that non-school rec… Some colleges don’t appreciate the extra recs, as it means more work for them. The school you’re applying to will impact gtown’s decision greatly. I’m assuming something in the sciences based on your classes. If you were applying to the business school or Sfs, I would say it’s a reach since, based on your info, you have not shown any interest in the fields. If you do plan on applying to either of those schools, I would advise making sure your essays show your interest and are well thought out. Your stats are fine but there isn’t anything that jumps out to me, but if you were doing something with science, that research bit will look good. I wouldn’t really worry about taking the sat again, and I don’t know what gtown’s last acceptable testing date is? I’d look that up.mmy advice would be to perfect your essays and show your passions! Make sure you choose your activity essay carefully!
