I'm a first-generation college student -- how do I use this?

Like the title says...neither of my parents went to college...

I've heard that this is an advantage at college admissions...

Any places you know of specifically where it might help?

How can I showcase this on my application? (Well, not "showcase" as my main feature cuz I got all my awards, ECs, and GPA for that, but you know...a little hook perhaps)

Thanks!!

It'll just ask you on the application...tell them how it is.

Yup. When you start filling out your application you will notice they ask things about your parent's educational background, specifically "Did either/both your parents attend college blahblah..."

thats it? they will pay that close attention?

A similar question to that is whether it's a hook to be the first-generation high school graduate in the family? o_O?

First generation college student is not a hook it is a tip when taken in consideration with other things; abject poverty, low performing schools, and low income families.
