I'm a high school senior and I'm thinking of changing my major. (engineering)

When I applied, I applied with the first major as mechanical engineering. However, I am thinking of calling them/emailing them to change the major to another engineering major and then transfer back to mechanical or electrical engineering. few questions…

What engineering majors are easier than Mechanical engineering to get into UCLA with?

How difficult is it to change from one engineering major to another during my freshmen year? (like Civil E -> Mech E or Civil E -> Electrical E)

i thought all engineering majors were considered equally

I don't think so, I believe EE is the hardest to be admitted into. Changing from ME to EE is hard, because EE is very competitive.

Civil, Aerospace, Materials

Changing to a lower tier engineering major is easy, the other way around is difficult.

What BoelterHall said...
Electrical Engineering is so impacted that it's really three majors in one.

How difficult is Mechanical Engineering compared to the other engineering majors to get accepted into?

So basically if I change to Civil and try to transfer into ME, it'd be difficult?

ME is probably one of the easier majors for admittance.

oh i didn't know that. i guess im in dumb engineering :(
