What are my chances?

Enjoy high school and come back next year with this chance thread. Let this thread be locked!!! HAHAHAHHA MUHUHAAAA

39% chance.

^simply because of the inherent randomness that comes with applying to high brow colleges. i think you are certainly well qualified

Heinz, that’s absolutely rediculous… her chances are obviously more like 39.4%

Why are you people so lax with your significant digits? 39.427%.

Lol while I really appreciate all of your humor, I really am concerned about me getting into Wharton. I just want to know if I am on the right track because I know how competitive Wharton is and I fear that my stats will not be enough to get me accepted.

I know I need to work on my SAT score but anything else?

This is pretty lame advice, but I’d check the stats of matriculating Wharton freshmen and see how your SATs/GPA compare. You ideally want to be situated at or above the 75th percentile in both categories to be a viable candidate (as well as have excellent essays and recommendations).

For UPenn chance threads are absolutely pointless. I had much higher scores and GPA than people who I know got accepted (I got deferred). This “holistic judgement” thing almost means that even with 1800’s and decent grades u can get in (one person got huntsman with 1810). Write essays that are mindblowing and ull be in for sure.

agreed with Nikeboy… u look like a good fit right now, but sometimes acceptances are pretty random

Assuming ED…
CAS:40%
Wh:20%

I don’t think I can really “chance” you but you are certainly on the right track in terms of academics and extracurriculars. Hopefully you are truly passionate about a few of the activities you currently do so that it won’t come off as you trying to do too much for the sake of bulking up your activity list.

@ShinyHelloKitty: I got accepted ED by Wharton and deferred by Huntsman (they’re letting me choose between the two if Huntsman take me in April). My SAT score wasn’t amazing: 800 V, 660 M, 700 W for a 2160…and i got accepted. I’m pretty sure it was the essays and recommendation letters i got that got me into wharton and deferred by huntsman. so don’t worry too much about your SAT, focus on writing some great essays and making sure your teachers right stellar recommendation letters! GL!

Your chances seem good! :)
