I'm a Junior- How can I improve my chances?

psat is complete crap. i kept getting like 65's on the psat readings and i dropped an 800 on the real thing. no studying. just strech your mind in school and the scores will come. im convinced you dont have to know anythign to get good scores, just recognize patterns.

I want to apply for physics/engineering physics (Unsure which yet).

Then I think you should try to do things that reflect your interest in Physics, possibly internships, etc. Also, if you have another thing that you are interested in, try to play on that as a common theme throughout your application. For example, if you like physics try and do activities in and out of school related to physics. Then when you write your supplementals, try and use those activities to show your interest.

Oh yeah, if you can get the prompts, start thinking about your essays, I think they really are the most important. Try to be funny in the essays too.

I got 189(0) on the PSAT. Then I took a real SAT practice test and got 1900, then I took another SAT practice test and got 2000…it’s just a matter of practice. Aim for 2200 if you want Cornell.
