I'm a little bit confused

do you read? it says undergraduate recruiting.

btw strat companies are the most prestigious and also most prestige wh0ring companies.

But the recruiters just listed the schools that they considered to be “core”. We had plenty of “core” schools where we didn’t look at undergrads.

And I know for a fact that at least one of those companies came to my campus, recruited students, and hired at least two of my students. And we’re not considered a “core” campus. So, I’m not really sure what that article was getting at.

this vault list is compiled from each companies recruiting schedule. For example, if you go on bain or BCG’s website, look up the schools listed, under events, you’ll see each school on this vault list have events planned. For example, Michigan has the first round interview date for all undergraduates and case competition for bschool students (ALL UNDERGRADS); georgia tech has nothing listed under events on the website

For BCG:
Michigan all undergrads:
[BCG On Campus/url
Michigan BBAs:
[url=http://bcg.com/careers/oncampus/school_general.jsp?ID=1062]BCG On Campus/url

Georgia Tech:
[url=http://bcg.com/careers/oncampus/school_general.jsp?ID=1114]BCG On Campus/url

Again for Bain:
Michigan all undergrads (LSA is the general school where everyone has access)
http://www.joinbain.com/apply-to-bain/bain-on-your-campus/school_events.asp?school_id=352](http://bcg.com/careers/oncampus/school_general.jsp?ID=1083)

Georgia tech
http://www.joinbain.com/apply-to-bain/bain-on-your-campus/school_events.asp?school_id=2</a>
Again nothing

Do a search for the schools on the lists and the listed ones have on campus events planned and the rest dont (Target school vs non target)

I sure trust the website publications of the actual companise or vault which is arguably the no.1 source for finance/consulting career more than a G.P burdell posting on collegeconfidential

Michigan is a target and has active OCR by all 3 of the most prestigious M/B/B. Georgia tech is a non-target, and no OCR planned either (not only proven from vault list, also proven DIRECTLY on each firms’ website, so you can say what you want but I trust each company’s own publication and a reputable website compared to your nonsense.). So your post on another thread about Michigan being around Georgia tech/illinois’ overall level is a Joke.

For Mckinsey
Michigan all undergrads:
[url=http://www.mckinsey.com/careers/us_schools/campus_calendar/university_of_michigan.aspx]University of Michigan | US Schools Recruitment/url

Georgia tech all undergrads:
[url=http://www.mckinsey.com/careers/us_schools/campus_calendar/south.aspx]South | US Schools Recruitment/url

bump for burdell :slight_smile: interesting

I personally think University of Michigan is the best public school in the nation. I probably would have attended UMich too if it weren’t for the cost.

burdell, dont let facts get in your way of argument, you can also make up facts, like, “And I know for a fact that at least one of those companies came to my campus.” because the companies’ calendars certainly say otherwise, and so does the vault list…but hey…burdell says they do OCR, so it must be true.

btw sang dont get offended please, I am not dissing Illinois, just justifying the fact that burdell stating that Michigan overall is “around” the level of illinois and GA tech is a joke, apparently all 3 known to be prestige-thirsty and most prestigious strat powerhouses dont agree with the great burdell.

bump it for him again ;)

Oh, please.

This whole thread demonstrates a complete lack of any maturity, what so ever. It’s full of a bunch of undergraduates that do some research on the internet, maybe visit an undergraduate consulting club meeting or two, then suddenly proclaim themselves “experts”.

Hopefully you’ll realize that this attitude is exactly wrong for the consulting lifestyle. You can’t walk into a new client with a “holier than thou” attitude and you can’t proclaim yourself an expert with a sophomoric level of research into a topic. There’s no gratification: the client almost always takes all of the accolades.

And what is this argument about? Whether some public schools are better than some other public school? And why? Because apparently one poster has a God-complex and is self-admittedly self-conscious that he did not attend Wharton. Childish.

UIUC makes it easy to see who’s there: [Business Career Services > Prospective Students](http://www.business.uiuc.edu/bcs/placement_information/ft_employers.html) And you can see that Bain, McKinsey, Deloitte, etc are all there hiring full time.

Georgia Tech is more difficult because all of that information (information session schedules, interview schedules, etc) is maintained in a password protected database. And I’m sure a screenshot will be considered to be “photoshopped”. But you can just do a quick search for “Bain” on the front of the website and find out a few things that directly contradict your assertion that they don’t visit campus or hire:

The MBA program’s list of some recruiters from last season: http://mgt.gatech.edu/programs/mba/quick_facts_ajax/recruiting.html</a> includes Bain, McKinsey, Deloitte, Accenture, Booze Allen (or Booze and Company or whatever name iteration they’re using now), Infosys, and IBM. Booze, Bain, and McKinsey also held info sessions (not sure if they hired) specifically for technical MS / PhD / MD / JD students. If you then search in the business school’s website, they don’t have a ton of student profiles, but there are several there that went to work for McKinsey or Bain.

The MSE Website shows who hires their students: [What is MSE](http://www.mse.gatech.edu/About_MSE/What_is_MSE/what_is_mse.html) and includes a good number of companies that you claim don’t visit or hire.

The Consulting Career Expo is held at Georgia Tech annually. It’s hard to find any reference because it’s an email-based announcement, but I did see a note in a 2008 newsletter from Chemical Engineering (of all places) referencing: “Consulting Career Expo with Boston Consulting, Bain & Co., Deloitte, Accenture, and Kurt Salmon Associates.” So those companies all did visit, contradicting your claim http://www.chbe.gatech.edu/sab/newsletter_sp08.html</a></p></li>

And a little closer to home, you can see that Cintia Nojima was hired by Bain in 2008 [Nair Research Group](http://www.chbe.gatech.edu/nair/Alumni2003_2008.html)

But I guess you want a list of every student that graduated with a list next to them of every place they went to work - not like that’s confidential information or anything.

Well anyway, if you haven’t visited the campuses do so immediately. The atmosphere is going to be drastically different at those schools and don’t let the peen-measuring contest in this thread fool you, they’re all good enough to get a job from if you do well.

poor OP, he got his thread hijacked.
